Murder Inspired by Violent Video Game: Article Inspired by Stupid Media http://apocalypse-nwo.cf If you think the more reactionary aspects of the media then you'll are aware that video games are responsible for a variety of violent behavior and several seen murders. Why do these so-called journalists ignore additional factors? Why are video gaming this easy target? The latest lurid headlines heading to the newsstands blaming game titles for violence concern true of Ryan Donovan. This Royal Navy sailor shot a police officer dead and attempted to kill three more crew mates. He used an SA80 rifle that they was issued with for sentry duty. The prosecutor claimed Donovan was drunk when he volunteered for sentry duty following a two day drinking binge and that he was resentful after being admonished for disobeying orders to scrub section of the submarine he was serving on. Apparently he'd discussed killing people before and even told another crewmate he would definitely kill someone when he returned for duty. So you will find there's disgruntled, mentally unstable man underneath the connection between alcohol issued using a gun. Naturally the tabloids reported becoming a 'Grand Theft Auto Massacre". This tenuous link was made because he discussed GTA kill sprees before also it opened the subject up for your media to drag out their usual unfounded claims about GTA inciting violence. The multi-million selling Grand Theft Auto series is a huge prime target for people wanting to lay the culprit for violence and murder with the feet of games. The attorney, Jack Thompson, has led a crusade against GTA and tried several lawsuits seeking damages from your makers and marketers from the games. He wants to describe GTA being a 'murder simulator". He also would rather exploit the grief of victim's families to drum up hatred of violent games. Despite his attempts to find out that GTA as well as other violent games are responsible for killings he's yet to win some of these frivolous suits. Even the recent London riots had some papers claiming the looting and violence was inspired by GTA. The Evening Standard were built with a blurb stating "Children who are only ten, inspired by computer game, one of many looters" but later retracted it after outrage within the games media. This phenomenon is not new -- video gaming are simply the most recent target. Rock 'n roll music had been blamed for promiscuity and violence. Comic books were blamed for juvenile delinquency. Violent films tend to be blamed for murders. In fact violent films and rap music still get blamed for inciting violence frequently though the most widely used target nowadays is certainly video games. Usually those who are so quick at fault a movie or video game for a lot of violent act are unfamiliar with the valuables in it. Their ignorance results in loud and clear in the ridiculous claims they generate. The fact that huge numbers of people enjoy these mediums without ever committing violence is totally ignored. If something awful happens it is a natural human response to seek an underlying cause, to get something or someone responsible. It is obviously more palatable for many individuals to blame a gaming compared to to inquire about questions regarding the mental health associated with an aggressor and society's failure to realize or treat it. Parenting and childhood, usage of and training with guns, alcohol and drug problems, bullying along with the prevalence of violence inside real world could be happily overlooked when we can just blame the whole thing on Call of Duty. Ultimately it always comes down to the consumer. There are invariably many root causes conducive to folks committing violent acts. The specific model of that violent act could possibly be relying on something they saw inside a game or a motion picture or perhaps something they read or heard. The concept that we were holding perfectly normal or healthy, played a video game and then became a rampant murderer is beyond ridiculous. Does anyone really believe? The most evocative media links between violence and games always involve children. They are potentially more susceptible to influence and can not have access to a real strong knowledge of right and wrong. Overlooking the fact this discredits children's intelligence perform come with an age rating system available. Unless we'd like a global in which the only entertainment available is deemed well suited for children we can't blame developers to create a game title for adults which may have a negative influence on kids. It is around retailers and, moreover, parents to ensure that children aren't getting their hands on adult video games. Unless we would like to introduce more censorship and initiate banning whatever offends some part of society we must defend free expression. The proven fact that kids aren't subjected to violence is totally false anyway. TV is rife with violence. The same media that hysterically condemns games will happily report the lurid details of every violent act that hits their radar. Whether we like it you aren't violence can be a portion of human life and looking to cover up it from kids as though it won't exist won't help their development. Video games actually allow children to try out violence inside a safe environment. It is interesting to notice that certain part of video gaming that does apparently increase aggression is competition. It is not the violent content. People of any age can fly in a rage when they're beaten at a game, whether it be football, monopoly or perhaps a first-person shooter. Competitive sports lead to a great deal of violence where there is a huge huge debate raging in what age it's okay for the kids to compete at and whether or not the competitive nature of many sports is negative. Of course it can be best to remain cautious about studies involving relatively small numbers of gamers. There have been various studies about the possible outcomes of gaming, the hyperlink with violence, the thought of gaming addiction and even the proven fact that games blur real-life boundaries. It doesn't actually matter they report because the media agenda for a few was already set and so they simply extract the info that supports their argument and overlook the rest. The bastion of reactionary stupidity that it's the Daily Mail was quick to suggest that games prompt violent ways of real-life situations after having a recent set of 'Games Transfer Phenomenon". The Metro took exactly the same line. As reported on Spong, Professor Griffiths, the co-author in the report was quick to deny the claims and explained that some in the media had misrepresented the data. "The Metro, they obviously had an idea - because all reporter] said was he i would like to learn about the negative stuff. I told him how the paper was primarily positive, or at best neutral. He said 'I don't want to know about that, I want to be aware of negative stuff.' So I just had might know about did, what we should found and what we are doing next." It ought to be obvious to everyone that games don't kill people, people kill people. The concept that games are responsible for the fall of our youth is really a recurring generational idea that is stamped on new forms of entertainment by people that hardly understand them or chapters of society who wishes to ban anything that offends them. The negative reporting on games is simply a cheap approach to create an attention-grabbing headline as well as an excuse for more of the slavering scare-mongering that some sections in the media manage to be committed to.
